A Schuylkill County woman died Tuesday evening as a result of injuries she suffered when her motorcycle was struck by a truck entering the roadway she was traveling, police say.
State Police-Schuylkill Haven report they responded to a two-vehicle crash along E. Pottsville St. (Route 443) shortly before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in Pine Grove Township. Through their investigation, police say a Ford E250 driven by Timothy O’Rourke, 81, of Lykens, was attempting to make a left turn from a parking lot onto E. Pottsville St. as a Yamaha YZF-R3 driven by 24-year-old Felicia Moyer, 24, of Auburn, was traveling east on the road.
As O’Rourke’s vehicle entered the road, Moyer’s motorcycle struck the 11 o’clock position of the truck. Both vehicles came to a stop in the eastbound lane.
Moyer sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash and was rushed to Lehigh Valley Hospital-East in Pottsville by Pine Grove Community Ambulance. Police say Moyer succumbed to those injuries.
CORRECTION: O’Rourke was driving an E250. Our original article indicated F250.
