An employee of a Schuylkill County Walmart store has been charged with stealing merchandise.
Police in Saint Clair recently filed charges in the case after store security personnel brought evidence of the theft that allegedly occurred in June.
A Minersville man – identified as 19-year-old Adam Bump – is facing misdemeanor charges of retail theft and receiving stolen property.
Evidenced presented by the store in this case reportedly shows Bump shopping for merchandise of June 14 at the Saint Clair Walmart. He allegedly places a tote in a closet near the grocery entrance.
Bump then allegedly places a personal safe in the closet. He then goes to the back of the lawn-and-garden section and bags more items and places them in a cart, surveillance footage reportedly shows.
After picking that merchandise, Bump allegedly goes back to the closet and retrieves the tote and safe and leaves the story without paying.
Police say the total value of the merchandise allegedly stole is $182.44.
