A Schuylkill County man was sentenced to 18-36 months in state prison Tuesday morning on charges of possessing child sexual abuse materials.
James Wagner, 51, of Pottsville, possessed numerous files – photos and videos – depicting minors in sexual scenarios, mostly on a Dropbox account, when State Police executed a search warrant on his home and electronic devices last summer.
Wagner had been facing dozens of charges of possessing child sexual abuse materials. He reached an agreement with the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Office earlier this year to plead guilty to three of those charges plus a charge of criminal use of a communications facility.
That deal was OK’d by Pennsylvania State Police.
Schuylkill County Common Pleas Judge William Burke imposed a sentence of 6-12 months on each of the CSAM charges to be served consecutively.
Wagner must spend two more years on probation after his release from prison. He’ll have to register as a sex offender for the next 15 years, too.
