Police have filed charges against a Schuylkill County woman they say threw a pair of scissors at her roomate last month.
According to court documents, Troopers from State Police-Frackville were sent to a home on W. Howard Ave. in Coaldale for a reported altercation on the afternoon of Aug. 19.
As they arrived on scene, police say a neighbor was rendering aid to the victim of this alleged incident.
The victim reportedly told police that her roommate, Christine King, 47, of Coaldale, began screaming at her while she was trying make food for her children. The roommate said she yelled back at King.
King allegedly ran downstairs and confronted the victim in the kitchen. The victim told police she put her hands out to stop King but King punched her in the face.
After walking away, King then allegedly grabbed a pair of scissors and threw them at the victim, hitting her in the left arm. King then fled the scene.
The victim refused hospital treatment for her injuries despite EMS urging her to do so. Police say the victim sustained a laceration injury on her arm and scratches on her face.
A search for King came up empty, police say.
On Sept. 11, police filed charges of simple assault and harassment against King. She’s been ordered to appear for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer on Oct. 28.
