A Schuylkill County woman was sent to jail Tuesday morning after an alleged fight with her girlfriend over a ride to court.
Court documents show that a Trooper from State Police-Frackville was sent to a home on Macomb St. in New Philadelphia shortly after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
There, police say they spoke with the victim of this alleged incident who said an argument between she and her girlfriend, Rachelle Marchetti, 27, started after she asked for a ride to a court appointment.
The argument turned physical, according to the victim, when Marchetti’s friend came up to her and shoved her into a wall. Marchetti then followed up by attacking the victim, placing her hands around her neck and applying pressure for several seconds.
The victim reportedly told police that she had trouble breathing as Marchetti choked her.
Police say the victim had no visible injuries but was evaluated by EMS personnel at the scene.
Marchetti was located inside her home and was taken into custody. She was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge David Plachko and charged with simple assault and harassment.
Plachko set bail at $15,000 and Marchetti was sent to Schuylkill County Prison.
