A Schuylkill County man was jailed earlier this month after he allegedly got physical with a woman over a trip to Dollar General.
According to court documents, a Trooper from State Police-Frackville said they were dispatched to a home in Middleport shortly after noon on Aug. 15.
There, the victim said that Kyle Otto, 29, of Middleport, had pushed her around the house after she said she didn’t want to go with him and their children to Dollar General. Otto then pushed the woman on the couch and then started choking her and slapping her in the face, police say.
Otto was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge David Plachko and charged with felony strangulation along with a misdemeanor count of simple assault, and a summary offense for harassment.
Plachko set bail at $35,000 and remanded Otto to Schuylkill County Prison. He’ll be in front of the judge on Tuesday for a preliminary hearing on these charges.
