New York City Man Booked on Charges of Dealing Fentanyl, Meth in Schuylkill County

A New York City man finds himself back behind bars at Schuylkill County Prison after police charged him with selling fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine in the area.

According to State Police, a joint investigation between its Narcotics unit, Pottsville PD, and the Schuylkill County Drug Task Force began tailing Rahman Q. Herrera, 44, back in November 2021.

That’s when police suspected Herrera of peddling these drugs in the area.

In July 2022, police say they got more than $32,000 worth of meth from Herrera.

On Aug. 25 of last year, police say the executed a search warrant on a place in Pottsville that was used by Herrera for his drug operation. In that search, police say they got drug paraphernalia as well as the following:

• $2,000 worth of cocaine
• $2,400 worth of methamphetamine
• $16,000 worth of fentanyl, fluorofentanyl and fentanyl, and heroin and fentanyl

That same day, Herrera was taken before District Judge Andrew Serina and charged with drug-related offenses.

He was eventually released from Schuylkill County Prison on $200,000 bail.

However, on Jan. 6 of this year, was hit with more drug-related charges.

Herrera was arraigned on those charges before District Judge James Reiley and remanded to prison on $300,000 bail on Monday.
