Bomb Threat Forces Evacuation of Lowe’s Distribution Center

A bomb threat temporarily evacuated Lowe’s Distribution Center Sunday afternoon in Schuylkill County.

State Police-Frackville say they were notified of a bomb threat at the warehouse located along Keystone Blvd. in Cass Township shortly before 4 p.m. Sunday.

The distribution center was immediately evacuated. A source tells The Canary that employees who were working at the time were told to stay on the property in their vehicles but were eventually released.

Police say a perimeter was secured around the building. Bomb-sniffing dogs were used to search the building but no explosive device was found during the search.

A source also tells The Canary that night-shift employees received a call at around the time of the incident to not to report to work Sunday. Another source says that operations are expected to resume at the facility at 6 a.m. Monday.
