Schuylkill County Man Accused of Licking Window Before Kicking In Door to Home

Police file felony trespass charge

A Schuylkill County man is facing a felony trespass charge after police say he kicked in the front door to his ex-girlfriend’s home in Mahanoy City late last month.

Prior to kicking in that door, the victim in this case told police she was in her kitchen just before 1 a.m. As she looked out the back window, there was Tyler Paniagua, 24, of Shenandoah, and he was licking the window, she said.

Paniagua allegedly tried to enter the home through the window he licked but then walked around to the front of the house. There, the victim told police that Paniagua kicked in the front door, entering the home for a short time.

The victim dialed 9-1-1. Paniagua reportedly told the victim that she didn’t need to call 9-1-1 because he was leaving.

Police searched the area for Paniagua but came up empty.

According to court records, Paniagua was arraigned before District Magistrate Judge Ed Tarantelli on Monday. He’s been charged with second-degree felony criminal trespass and a summary offense for disorderly conduct. Tarantelli released Paniagua on $25,000 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 10 before Judge Anthony Kilker.
