National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for Schuylkill County.
The watch is in effect until 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Forecasters say scattered to numerous severe thunderstorms are expected through the evening hours, with damaging wind gusts of 60 mph or greater possible.
A few tornadoes and large hail over an inch in diameter can’t be ruled out, and some storms may bring torrential downpours that lead to isolated flash flooding.
The watch also covers much of central and eastern Pennsylvania, including Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe, and Northampton counties.
Residents are urged to stay weather-aware through the evening and monitor NOAA Weather Radio or local NWS updates for the latest information.
