Swimming at Locust Lake State Park in Schuylkill County has been suspended indefinitely.
Poor water sample results prompted the closure, according to the state’s Dept. of Conservation and Natural Resources. DCNR officials have begun the process of resampling water from Locust Lake. Once samples are deemed acceptable, swimming will be resumed.
Locust Lake State Park remains open to the public. Campground reservations are not affected by the swimming ban. All other recreational activities are still permitted during this time.
Swimming is still permitted at Tuscarora State Park, also in Schuylkill County.
