National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for all of Schuylkill County. The Severe Thunderstorm Warning expires at 10 p.m. Saturday, July 4.
NWS says at 8:42 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Lightstreet to Knoebels Grove to Williamstown, moving east at 35 mph.
Wind gusts up to 60 mph are associated with this line of storms. Damage to roofs, siding, and trees is possible.
Locations in Schuylkill County that could be impacted by these storms include areas near Pottsville, Tamaqua, Schuylkill Haven, Shenandoah, Minersville, Mahanoy City, and Frackville.
Areas along Interstate 81 from mile markers 102-139 are in the line of these storms.
