The Majestic Theater is proud to present Fame: The Musical, the electrifying stage adaptation of the beloved entertainment phenomenon that has inspired audiences for more than four decades.
Performance dates are June 19-21 at The Majestic Theater, located at 209 N. Centre St., Pottsville. Tickets can be preordered at majestictheater.net or purchased at the door.
Show times are 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Originally introduced through the 1980 Academy Award-winning film Fame, the story followed a group of students pursuing their artistic dreams at New York City’s High School of Performing Arts. The film became a cultural touchstone of the 1980s, celebrated for its raw portrayal of ambition, friendship, sacrifice, and the pursuit of success. The popularity of the film led to the acclaimed 1982 television series and the 2009 feature film remake, proving that its themes of perseverance, creativity, and self-discovery remain as relevant as ever.

Fame: The Musical continues that legacy, bringing the story to life on stage with dynamic choreography, powerful vocals, and unforgettable characters. The production features some of the lyrics audiences may know and love from the original soundtrack, including the iconic title song, while expanding the story through an engaging theatrical experience that celebrates the challenges and triumphs of young artists striving to make their mark.
“Our cast has embraced the heart of what makes FAME resonate with audiences,” said Talia Lewis, Assistant Executive Director of the Majestic Theater. “It’s a story about passion, hard work, and believing in yourself even when the path forward isn’t clear. Those themes are timeless.”
Audiences can expect a high-energy production filled with singing, dancing, drama, and inspiration as students navigate the demanding world of arts education while discovering who they are and who they hope to become. This local production offers audiences the opportunity to experience a fresh stage retelling of a beloved cultural phenomenon while celebrating the talent of performers from our very own community.
