Blue Mountain grad Nate Nabholz is headed to the San Francisco Giants organization.
On Friday, his contract with the Tri-City ValleyCats of the Frontier League was transfered to the Giants. He’s expected to be assigned to the organization’s Single-A affiliate in San Jose.
With Tri-City this season, Nabholz – a 2019 Blue Mountain grad – had 22 strikeouts in 18.2 innings. On Tuesday, he worked out of an 8th-inning bases-loaded jam and then struck out two batters in the 9th to earn his third save of the season.
Nabholz appeared in 21 games for the ValleyCats last season, striking out 30 batters in 31 innings.
