We’ve had some interesting (good or bad, depending upon how you view wild temperature swings) weather patterns this Spring and it’ll continue this week as Schuylkill County is staring down a potential heat wave in a few days.
While temperatures are expected to be about normal for this time of year to start the work week, the coal region can expect some blistering highs in a few days.
Hot and humid air is expected to move into the area starting Wednesday, when the high temp will be close to 90 degrees. For Thursday and Friday, we’re looking at highs in the mid-90s and barely any noticeable relief through the weekend, when forecast highs are about 90 on Saturday and Sunday.
National Weather Service says the Heat Index level may reach 100 on Thursday and Friday, what are supposed to be the hottest days of the year so far.
With that hot and humid air, the chance for showers and thunderstorms exists each day during the potential heat wave, according to the NWS forecast.
Forecasters are also predicting higher than normal temperatures over the next two weeks. The good news is that precipitation is also expected to be above normal during that same time period.
