A Schuylkill County man faces criminal charges after police say he sent a series of death threats via phone calls, voicemails, and social media messages to another man.
Jacob Ian Souchak, 24, of Schuylkill Haven, is charged with a misdemeanor count of terroristic threats and a summary count of disorderly conduct.
State Police say they responded to a location in West Brunswick Township on April 6 after a man reported receiving multiple threats. The man told police that Souchak, who is his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend and a former high school friend, had recently discovered the two were dating.
The victim reported receiving 12 phone calls, four voicemails, and multiple Snapchat messages from Souchak over a two-hour span that morning, police say.
While on the scene, police reviewed the messages and reported that Souchak wrote, “Yo,” “Do I have to f***ing kill You,” “If you touch her,” “If you did,” “I will kill you,” “I don’t care,” “I will,” and “You are a pathetic loser.”
Police also listened to the voicemails left on the man’s phone. In one recording, Souchak allegedly stated, “Both of you are a waste of f***ing oxygen. I wish you f***ing both would rot in hell. You deserve f***ing death and if I see you I will beat the f***ing shit out of you. Don’t even f***ing try me. When I go to the bar, trust me, if I see you there your [sic] gonna f***ing die.”
In other voicemails, Souchak told the man, “Hey buddy guess what? You are never ever, if I see your f***ing,” and repeatedly commanded him to pick up the phone, using profanities, according to police.
The victim told police he was concerned for his safety due to the messages and voicemails.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 7 in Orwigsburg.
