Boil Water Advisory Lifted in Shenandoah Area

Customers can resume normal water usage

The Boil Water Advisory in place since Monday in the Shenandoah area has been lifted.

Aqua Pennsylvania is informing customers in Shenandoah, West Mahanoy and Butler townships that they can now resume normal water use. The company says the Dept. of Environmental Protection has approved its decision to lift the Boil Water Advisory.

Company trucks with potable water outside Borough Hall have been removed.

Earlier this week, customers in the Shenandoah area were without water service from late-Monday into Thursday as Aqua and Borough officials searched for the source of a water main break.

Some customers reported to Coal Region Canary that their water service was very limited or out entirely into early Friday morning.

Aqua says it thanks its customers for their patience and understanding through the ordeal this week.
