Canary Rescue Crew: Don’t Let Chubbs’ Intense Face Fool You

He just intensely wants attention

One look at the face on Chubbs says, “This cat means business.”

Then you spend more than a minute with him and you realize his business is getting attention from you.

Indeed, that look is merely a front for a cat who looks the part of a tough guy but is really just a big softy.

In fact, the only time we could get Chubbs to sit still for a photo was when he retired to his cozy bed. When we paid him any attention whatsoever, he’d immediately emerge and come to us looking for some affection.

Chubbs is a 2-year-old gray and white tux. He’s got medium-length fur, is neutered, an up-to-date on all his shots.

Staff at Hillside SPCA agree that he’s definitely looking for attention from anyone. However, he does seem to have some behavioral issues around small children. He’s not mean by any stretch. It’s just that he sometimes likes to leave his mark on their belongings, exclusively.

Don’t allow that to cloud your judgement on Chubbs. Once you meet him, you’ll wonder first how he got to the shelter and then why he’s still there.
