Schuylkill County Municipal Authority is reporting a water main break on N. Centre St. in Pottsville.
The break occurred on a 16-inch, large-diameter main downtown.
The utility company says that current weather conditions are making it more difficult to complete the repairs.
SCMA says it will be notifying customers directly impacted by the water main break with further instructions. According to a person working with an answering service for SCMA, a number of customers in Pottsville and Saint Clair are being affected by this issue.
It is asking people to avoid the area of the break as much as possible.
Anyone with questions about the water main break should contact SCMA at 570-622-8240.
