A Schuylkill County man and woman are both facing criminal charges and the woman was jailed following an alleged domestic violence incident over the weekend.
Police in the city say they were called to an apartment building on N. Centre St. on Saturday. As they arrived on the scene, they say they met with 33-year-old Bianca Morales.
Morales reportedly told police that she and her fiance – identified as 31-year-old Shafeek Frazier – were having a verbal argument that at some point turned physical.
Police say Morales had a black eye and told them she was experiencing pain in her right shoulder.
As they questioned Morales further, police say they learned that the couple got into an argument because she got home later from the bar than he did. During the argument, Morales allegedly admitted to punching Frazier in the forehead.
Later, while questioning Frazier, police say he had a small laceration on his forehead. He reportedly said he got it when he fell down the stairs.
Morales also reported that during their argument, as she was walking away from him, Frazier shoved her, which caused her to fall and hit her face off the floor.
Police charged Morales with a second-degree misdemeanor count of simple assault and a summary count of harassment. She was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker, who set bail at 10% of $15,000 and sent her to Schuylkill County Prison.
Frazier has been charged with a third-degree misdemeanor count of simple assault and has been ordered to appear in District Court to answer to that charge.
