Coal Region Canary is opening its pages to every candidate on the 2025 Schuylkill County Municipal General Election ballot.
If you’re seeking public office this year – incumbent or challenger – we invite you to submit an editorial explaining why you’re running, what you hope to accomplish, and why voters should choose you.
This is your opportunity to speak directly to Schuylkill County voters in your own words. You may use this space to share your priorities, your goals, your vision for the community, or anything else you believe voters should know as they head to the polls.
The message – and the length – is entirely up to you.
Submission Guidelines
There is no set word limit for these submissions. Focus on your platform, ideas, and message to voters. Submissions must be your original work.
The opinions and statements expressed in each editorial are solely those of the candidate.
How to Submit
Send your editorial by email to newscanary@gmail.com
with the subject line: “Candidate Editorial – [Your Name] – [Office/District]”
You can include your statement as a document attachment or simply paste it in the body of your email. You may also attach one photo (optional but encouraged) to accompany your submission.
Please include a phone number (that won’t be published) so Coal Region Canary can verify that it’s you sending the editorial.
Coal Region Canary reserves the right to verify that each submission is authentic and originates from the candidate or ticket it represents.
Deadline
The deadline for guaranteed publication before Election Day is 12 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2025. Submissions received after that date may not appear before the Nov. 4 election.
Our Commitment to Fairness
Coal Region Canary offers this opportunity equally to all candidates appearing on the ballot. We do not endorse or oppose any candidate through these submissions. Each editorial will be published as the candidate’s own words so Schuylkill County voters can make informed decisions at the polls.
Questions may also be directed to newscanary@gmail.com
