A Luzerne County man died Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash along Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County.
State Police in Frackville say the crash happened in Butler Township on the nothbound lanes of I-81 at about 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 2.
At that time and location, a vehicle driven by Keith Musselman Jr., 61, of Harrison, Ohio, was in the right lane. A vehicle driven by Esau Foster, 81, of Kingston, Luzerne County, was behind Musselman’s vehicle between both northbound lanes.
Police say Foster’s vehicle rear-ended Musselman’s vehicle near the tire on the driver’s side. This caused Foster’s vehicle to roll over an unknown number of times. The vehicle came to rest in the grass center median facing east.
Foster was extricated from the vehicle and rushed to Lehigh Valley Hospital-East in Pottsville and then airlifted to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where he succumbed to his injuries.
