National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Schuylkill county.
The Flood Watch is in effect from 3 p.m. Thursday until midnight tonight.
Forecasters say flash flooding is possible from slow-moving thunderstorms that can produce locally heavy rainfall this afternoon and late evening.
Rainfall rates of 2-4 inches are possible in areas that receive these thunderstorms, NWS says.
Flooding from excessive runoff in rivers, creeks, streams, low-lying areas and other flood-prone locations is possible. Areas of poor drainage are also prone to flooding from today’s potential rainfall.
