WIND ADVISORY: Gusts to 50 MPH Expected in Schuylkill County Into Friday

National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Schuylkill County.

The Wind Advisory is in effect from 2 p.m. Thursday until 4 a.m. Friday, March 7.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph are expected during that time. Steady winds from the north-northwest will be blowing at 15-25 mph.

Unsecured objects outdoors could blow around in strong wind gusts. Those gusts could bring down trees and potentially cause power outages.

On Thursday, we can expect considerably cooler temps than the last couple days here in Schuylkill County. A high of just 40 degrees is expected with a low of 28 degrees.

It gets slightly warmer on Friday as strong winds persist in the afternoon. A high of 46 degrees is in the forecast for Friday afternoon but at night, we could see a very little bit of snow and a low of 31 degrees.

The chillier temps stick around through the weekend but fear not, winter does not appear to be making a comeback, at least in the short term. By mid-week next week, we could be seeing high temps in the mid-60s here in Schuylkill County.
