A Shenandoah man was jailed late last week after police say he stabbed a man in the shoulder.
According to an affidavit filed by police in Shenandoah on Saturday, Feb. 22, Christian Maldonado Del Valle, 24, reportedly called the stabbing victim on the phone on Saturday morning threatening to come to his home on S. Chestnut St. and damage his vehicle.
A short time after this call, Del Valle reportedly arrived as promised on that call. The victim told police that Del Valle had begun kicks the doors of his vehicle and calling out his name. Witnessing this, the victim decided to confront Del Valle outside his home. He grabbed an aluminum baseball bat in an attempt to stop Del Valle from damaging his vehicle.
Del Valle and the victim engaged in a confrontation. The victim lost the bat from his hands during that confrontation and Del Valle allegedly stabbed him on the back in the shoulder area. A person staying with the victim confirmed these details during an interview with police, according to the affidavit.
The victim retreated to his home and Del Valle left the scene on foot. The victim contacted police to report the stabbing shortly before noon.
Del Valle was arrested and arraigned before District Magistrate David Plachko on Saturday night. Police have charged him with aggravated assult, simple assault, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct.
Plachko set bail at $150,000 cash and remanded him to Schuylkill County Prison. A preliminary hearing is currently scheduled for March 6 before Judge Anthony Kilker.
