National Weather Service has placed Schuylkill County under a Wind Advisory on Wednesday, Jan. 29.
The Wind Advisory is in effect from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. today. Wind gusts are expected to top out at 50 mph. Steady winds out of the west should clock between 20-25 mph.
These gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects outdoors and some power outages are possible due to downed tree limbs.
NWS says the strongest winds will come in before a sharp cold front from the north. A high temperature of 40 degrees is expected in Pottsville on Wednesday but the low temp will drop to 18 degrees at night.
Thursday looks to be colder but still above freezing during the day, with a high of 36 degrees. A low of 29 is expected.
