National Weather Service has placed Schuylkill County under a Wind Advisory on Thursday, Dec. 5.
The Wind Advisory will be in effect from 1 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday. Winds are forecast to be steady at 15-25 mph that day with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
Those strong winds will likely blow around unsecured objects and could result in power outages across the area.
On Thursday, light snow is expected to begin after 1 a.m. and let up around 1 p.m. Less than an inch of accumulation is expected. A high temperature of 34 is forecast.
