Schuylkill County Historical Society was recently awarded a grant to support its operation.
The Historical Society based in Pottsville was awarded an $8,000 Cultural and Historical Support Grant by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.
In a joint statement, State representatives from Schuylkill County – Reps. Dane Watro, Jamie Barton, Joanne Stehr, and Tim Twardzik, along with State Sen. Dave Argall – say, “We are pleased the Schuylkill County Historical Society was approved for this funding. Preserving our past for future generations is critically important and the society does a wonderful job of doing that at its museum.”
The Cultural and Historical Support Grant program is designed to provide funding for organizations like Schuylkill County Historical Society to support their general operations.
