Port Carbon Hosts Annual 4th of July Parade

Dozens of photos and division winners announced.

It’s an annual tradition in Port Carbon.

What was once the Baby Parade is now simply the borough’s 4th of July Parade. And several hundred people lined the streets of Port Carbon on a muggy Thursday morning to take it all in.

It’s part of a day of festivities that culminates with the annual fireworks display. Earlier this morning, more than 100 runners, joggers, and walkers competed in the Firecracker 5K.

The parade was led by Pottsville’s Third Brigade Band.

Participants from various organizations around Schuylkill County participated with local fire companies and more.

The highlight of the Port Carbon 4th of July Parade is always the children and their families who either ride along in floats, walk, or ride their bicycles along the route.

The parade winds its way to Miller Playground where refreshments are served and prizes awarded.
