Deadline Nears for Girls to Enter Schuylkill County Fair Royalty Contest

The Schuylkill County Fair is offering an exciting summer adventure for girls aged 7-20 through its 2024 Royalty Program. This program is designed to provide a week filled with activities, rides, and learning experiences centered around agriculture, and it aims to foster friendships, public speaking skills, and community representation.

Unlike traditional pageants, the Schuylkill County Fair Royalty Program focuses on immersion in fair activities and community involvement. It is open to girls from across Schuylkill County who have a passion for the fair and a desire to learn about agriculture. The program requires no prior farming background or pageant experience, emphasizing support and encouragement for all participants.

Participants will be grouped into three categories based on age: Little Miss (ages 7-10), Princess (ages 11-15), and Queen (ages 16-20). One winner and one runner-up will be selected from each category, with additional titles for Miss Congeniality and People’s Choice.

The winners will enjoy a week at the fair, engaging in rides, animal encounters, and agricultural education. Following the fair, they will represent the Schuylkill County Fair at various community events throughout the year, including parades and festivals.

The competition involves three main events leading up to the fair week:

• Royalty Bash (July 21): This non-judged event allows current and future Royalty to meet, play games, and make new friends in a relaxed atmosphere.
• Judges’ Reception (July 28): Contestants will craft their “People’s Choice” voting boxes and participate in one-on-one interviews with the judges.
• Coronation Day (July 29): Contestants will introduce themselves, deliver a speech about their love for the fair, and answer an impromptu question. The coronation ceremony will reveal who will be crowned the 2024 Schuylkill County Fair Royalty.

The Schuylkill County Fair Royalty Program is a scholarship program that highlights the fair’s positive influence on the community. It aims to help and support girls in trying new things and showcasing their talents. The deadline for contest entries is July 12, 2024.
