Another Person Takes a Shot at Wind Turbine in Schuylkill County

This is the second such incident since March.

For some reason, people keep taking aim at the wind turbines in Schuylkill County.

According to State Police-Frackville, back on May 19, police responded to a call regarding a damaged wind turbine owned by Avangrid Renewables.

Police say their investigation revealed that someone pried open a vent door to one of the turbines located near Route 924 in West Mahanoy Twp.

Once they got that open, they fired a single shot from a .22-caliber gun into the turbine.

After unloading the weapon into the turbine, the person or persons fled the scene using a side-by-side or other ATV.

Police are asking for the public’s help with any information regarding this incident. If anyone does have information, they’re asked to call State Police-Frackville at 570-874-5300.

Back in March, police were also alerted to a similar incident involving a pair of wind turbines near Raven Run Rd. and Ringtown Blvd.
