Two Arrested in Schuylkill County Drug Bust

One defendant denied bail

Two people were arraigned on drug charges Friday morning by Shenandoah Police working in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

According to court documents, the investigation into Darious Felder, of Shenandoah, began in January when police worked with an FBI Special Agent and a confidential informant to make a methamphetamine purchase from Felder.

Another controlled buy was executed in March. In each, the CI used a social media app to contact Felder. The two met and exchanged money for the drugs. The drugs tested positive for methamphetamine.

A similar scenario led to the arrest of Mark Thompson.

In April, Shenandoah Police organized a controlled buy from Mark Thompson, of Ashland. The CI texted Thompson to set up the purchase of methamphetamine in Shenandoah.

Both Felder and Thompson were arraigned Friday morning before District Magistrate Judge Anthony Kilker.

Kilker denied bail for Thompson. A notation on his docket indicates, “No amount of bail or bail conditions can ensure community safety.”

Felder’s bail has been set at $100,000. Both he and Thompson were remanded to Schuylkill County Prison. They’re both facing possession with intent to deliver charges.
