It’ll come as no surprise that Donald Trump and Joe Biden each won their respective Primary elections in Pennsylvania on Tuesday.
Statewide, Trump secured 83.4% of Republican votes counted (as of midnight Wednesday), thoroughly defeating Nikki Haley, who has already suspended her campaign.
In Schuylkill County, Trump actually got more of the Republican vote, which shouldn’t surprise anyone either. Here, the former President got 85.5% of the Republican vote.
On the Democrat side, President Joe Biden got 93.1% of the vote statewide. But in Schuylkill County, Biden didn’t do nearly as well.
Here, Biden got just 79.9% of all Democrat votes cast in the Primary. Minnesota Congressman Dean Phillips got 12.5% of Democrat votes in Schuylkill County.
And local voters clearly not enamored with either Democrat candidate let themselves be known with write-in votes on the party’s ballot. There were 541 write-in votes for President on Democrat ballots in Schuylkill County in this year’s Primary. There were just 215 write-ins on the Republican side.
