National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Schuylkill County.
The Winter Storm Warning is in effect from Midnight until 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13.
Forecasters now say heavy snow is expected from this winter storm. NWS says rain will turn to snow overnight tonight into early Monday morning.
National Weather Service now says snow could accumulate between 6-9 inches before the storm moves away from Schuylkill County. The hyper-local forecast for Pottsville indicates between 4-10 inches of snow is possible.
The heaviest snow will fall during a 6-hour period beginning late tonight until mid-morning Tuesday.
Snowfall rates of an inch or more per hour are expected during this period of time.
The Tuesday morning commute could be dangerous under these conditions, NWS warns.
