Tree Seedling Sale to Benefit Sweet Arrow Lake County Park

Are you looking to plant some trees on your property? Now is a great time to pick up some tree seedlings and help a local resource at the same time.

Sweet Arrow Lake Conservation Association and Schuylkill Conservation District are teaming up for their annual seedling sale.

Between now and Saturday, March 23, you can purchase various tree seedlings, both evergreens and hardwoods.

There are plenty of reasons why you might want to plant trees on your property. They can beautify your property and increase its value, enhance the wildlife habitat and improve the environment, and even provide a source of extra income.

There’s no property too big or too small that could benefit from having tree seedlings planted on it.

All seedling sales will directly support Sweet Arrow Lake County Park, outside of Pine Grove. More than 570,000 seedlings have been sold in past sales.

Seedling order forms can be gotten at sweetarrowlake.com or you can contact Porcupine Pat by emailing porcupinepat@yahoo.com or calling him at 570-391-3326. More information on the seedling sale is also available from Kathy Stefanick at 570-345-4963.

Seedlings available include:

  • White pine
  • Norway spruce
  • Eastern red cedar
  • River birch
  • Catalpa
  • Sugar maple
  • Washington hawthorn
  • Swamp white oak
  • Red bud
  • Pin oak
  • Black chokeberry shrub
  • Buttonbush

Again, the deadline to order is March 23 or until supplies last. The seedling pickup date is Saturday, May 4 from 9-11 a.m. Pickup will be at the large Waterfall Road Pavilion at Sweet Arrow Lake County Park.
