National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Schuylkill County and much of central Pennsylvania as a winter storm moves its way through the area.
You won’t see much snow from this particular winter storm but you will see a lot of rain and winds are expected to be very strong throughout the day Tuesday.
The Wind Advisory goes into effect at noon Tuesday and lasts until 2 a.m. Wednesday, January 10.
Sustained winds of 25-35 mph are expected. Wind gusts could top out at 55 mph.
Unsecured objects will likely be blown around during this storm and power outages are possible, especially from downed trees. NWS advises caution when driving high-profile vehicles.
As much as 3 inches of rain is expected in the area during the course of the storm. A Flood Watch is also in effect for Schuylkill County.
Expect winds to intensify as snow moves in during the first part of the storm. However, it’ll quickly change to a wintry mix and then all rain as the temperature rises well above freezing on Tuesday.
