The City of Pottsville will illuminate its Christmas tree in Garfield Square on Saturday evening (Nov. 25).
But before that, the Mayor Clews’ North Pole Carnival will provide entertainment for kids and families all afternoon, just down the street from the tree ceremony.
The North Pole Carnival gets underway at Discovery Park (next to the Pottsville Free Public Library), 3rd and W. Market Sts., from 2:30 until 5:30 p.m.
At the Carnival, there promises to be penguin bowling, ice fishing, a reindeer ring toss, a snowball toss, and more games.
There will be plenty of opportunities for seasonal photo ops, including a special appearance by Olaf.
A hot chocolate bar and baked goods will keep visitors satisfied leading up to the big event in Garfield Square, the tree lighting, at 6 p.m.
The North Pole Carnival is hosted by Pottsville Recreation Commission.
