Employees and customers at the Beyond Hello marijuana dispensary in downtown Pottsville were evacuated from the building Thursday morning due to a suspicious smell.
Emergency dispatches from Schuylkill County Communications Center relayed a smell of sulfur and rotten eggs near the vault area, where the dispensary’s products are stored.
An employee at Beyond Hello tells The Canary that employees were evacuated from the building as a precaution.

The call drew a quick response from Pottsville Fire Dept. and city police, who eventually called in a representative from UGI Utilities to investigate the source of the odor.
That Beyond Hello employee that it was a rather slow morning inside the dispensary and the evacuation went expeditiously.
The dispensary remains closed Thursday morning until the gas company gives the all-clear to go back inside. An update on the location reopening may be posted online but prospective clients may want to call ahead before planning a trip there.
