A Pottsville man died Thursday afternoon in a crash along Route 183 in Berks County.
According to information from State Police-Reading, the crash happened just before 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, on the highway near Old State Rd. in Penn Township.
Police say the crash happened when a vehicle traveling northbound on Route 183 “suddenly crossed” the double-yellow line, crashed into a vehicle driven by 65-year-old Seamus Loughran, of Pottsville, which was headed south on the highway.
The two vehicles collided with their “11 o’clock” positions, police say.
Loughran was pronounced dead by Joel Bonilla of the Berks County Coroner’s office.
A passenger in Loughran’s vehicle and the driver of the other vehicle were both taken to Reading Hospital for treatment of injuries.
