Police have ruled the two people found dead in a wooded area outside New Philadelphia died by homicide.
Police have also identified one of the victims as 18-year-old Hunter Mock, of New Philadelphia.
Information released by Pottsville Area School District on Wednesday identified the other victim as 16-year-old Angelito Caraballo, also of New Philadelphia.
Before announcing that police had discovered their bodies in the early morning hours on Tuesday, State Police-Frackville released information that both Mock and Caraballo were considered missing.
Schuylkill County Coroner’s office pronounced both dead at around 6 a.m. on Tuesday.
New information released Thursday afternoon from the State Police Troop L Major Case Team says autopsies were performed this morning at the Dauphin County Forensics Facility by Dr. Wayne Ross.
The autopsies this morning revealed that both Mock and Caraballo died as a result of homicide.
Police say the investigation into this incident in New Philadelphia remains active and will release more information as it becomes available.
