A million-dollar Powerball ticket was purchased in Pottsville last week.
According to Pennsylvania Lottery officials, the ticket was sold at Pottsville Provision, on N. 7th St., for the $850 million jackpot drawing on Saturday, Sept. 30.
The winner has yet to claim the prize but has a year to do so. PA Lottery advises any lottery winners to sign the back of their ticket … especially the ones worth a million bucks.
For selling the winning ticket, Pottsville Provision wins a $5,000 bonus.
To win $1 million at Powerball, the player must match the 5 white balls drawn. Matching all those plus the red Powerball wins the jackpot.
No one has won the jackpot since mid-July and that’s risen the stakes for Monday’s drawing to a whopping $1.04 billion.
The million-dollar ticket sold in Pottsville was one of 5 such winners for the Saturday drawing.
