Travis Blankenhorn crushed a home run during the 3rd inning of his debut appearance with the Washington Nationals on Friday night.
Blankenhorn sent a 1-1 97 mph fastball from Miami Marlins pitcher Eury Perez over the wall in right center field in the bottom of the 3rd inning to tie the game, 3-3.
Data shows the home run traveled 423 ft.
This was Blankenhorn’s second-career MLB home run. He sent a ball into the river in Pittsburgh back in July 2021 when he appeared in a game for the New York Mets.
Before his at-bat in the 8th inning for the Nationals on Friday night, Blankenhorn had a perfect batting line. He was 1-for-1 and 2 walks in his first 3 plate appearances.
In the 8th inning, he grounded out with the game still tied.
