Angel of Empire, the Schuylkill County-bred thoroughbred, returns to the track on Saturday at the Belmont Stakes in New York.
The bay colt born and bred by Forgotten Land Investment and Black Diamond Equine in Pine Grove Township is one of the leading favorites at Belmont Stakes, the third leg of the Triple Crown.
Angel of Empire finished 3rd at the Kentucky Derby (behind Mage and Two Phil’s) last month but sat out the Preakness Stakes race a few weeks ago.
