Marguerite Teresa Fasnacht, 93 – Worked in Garment Industry

Marguerite T. Fasnacht, a resident of the Gardens at York Terrace, formerly of Minersville, passed away peacefully Friday, June 2, 2023 at the age of 93.

Marguerite T. Fasnacht, a resident of the Gardens at York Terrace, formerly of Minersville, passed away peacefully Friday, June 2, 2023 at the age of 93.

Marguerite was born April 28, 1930 in Minersville, a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (DeFont) Borrelli. 

She was raised in Minersville and attended Minersville schools.

She worked in the garment industry most of her life while raising six children.  She was last employed by King’s Department Store in the Domestics department.

During her life she was a member of the American Legion Post #544 Women’s Auxiliary , and a Minersville Senior Citizen Club member. 

A Catholic her entire life , she was a member of the former St. Vincent De Paul Church and currently a member of St. Michael’s the Archangel of the Holy Family Parish, Minersville.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John F, Butler who passed in 1990; her second husband, Edwin C. Fasnacht who passed in 1994, four sisters:  Josephine (Levrio) Laudeman, Rita (Levrio) Olexo, and Philomena (Borrelli) Flanagan and Emma (Borrelli) Lewis. 

Finally, and most heartfelt, Marguerite  was preceded in death by exactly 3 months to the day by her youngest daughter and child, Christina (Butler) Madden of Mt. Carmel who passed into peaceful slumber March 2, 2023.

Marguerite is survived by her remaining four daughters: Linda, wife of Michael Laudeman, Lynette, wife of James Bohrman, Charlotte, wife of Ed Kocher, Cheryl, wife of Gary Major.  A son, John S. Butler and a son-in-law, Bruce Madden.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; Lisa, Michael, Amy, Nicole, Amber, Jennifer, Karissa, Christopher, Taylor, Gary, and Jessica, as well as 11 Great Grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sole surviving sibling, Anna (Borrelli) Goetz.  Nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service of Christian Burial shall be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 9 at the Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville, with Reverend Leo J. Maletz officiant.  All respectfully invited to attend a Visitation with calling hours from 9 a.m. to the time of service at the funeral home. 

Interment St. Barbara Cemetery.
