Reading Fightin Phils Announce Redner’s Event Center Partnership

Facility set to open in 2024.

reading fightin phils announce a naming partnership on the new redner's event center at the stadium

The Reading Fightin Phils, the Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, announced a partnership with Redner’s Markets, which will see the local grocery chain become the official naming partner for the R-Phils’ new Redner’s Event Center. Set to open in 2024, the event center will cater to both player development and community events.

Scott Hunsicker, R-Phils General Manager, says in a team release, “We thank Redner’s for partnering with us on this new year-round facility – that will both provide wonderful state-of-the-art player development space, and allow us to host community events, meetings and banquets both at all R-Phils home games, and when the team is on the road, and in the offseason.”

Ryan S. Redner, President/CEO of Redner’s Markets, say the partnership strengthens his company’s relationship with the Phillies organization and Berks County through the naming of Redner’s Event Center.

The Redner’s Event Center will feature brand new home and away clubhouses, batting cages, weight rooms, female locker rooms, dining areas and kitchens, training room facilities, and more. These top-notch player development facilities will surpass Major League Baseball’s requirements and offer exceptional opportunities for the Philadelphia Phillies Double-A team and visiting teams.

In addition to serving as a player development center, the Redner’s Event Center will provide year-round opportunities for various events. Capable of accommodating up to 500 people in a banquet setting, the center is ideal for upscale, climate-controlled group outings during R-Phils home games. The event center will also be a year-round location for weddings, banquets, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, and other celebrations.

During the offseason, the Redner’s Event Center will transform into additional event spaces, such as the “Baseballtown Club” and the “R-Phils Club.” These spaces could host a range of gatherings, from meetings and luncheons to rehearsal dinners and catered events.

Designed to resemble a 1950s brick warehouse, the Redner’s Event Center complements the existing architecture of FirstEnergy Stadium. Featuring brick construction, arches, windows, wooden ceiling elements, and warehouse-style striping, the center captures the aesthetic of the 1950s era.

Events on game days and non-game days are slated to begin in June 2024, or potentially earlier. Existing R-Phils’ group leaders and partners will have the first opportunity to reserve space in the Redner’s Event Center. Interested parties can reach out to the R-Phils about becoming a group leader or partner in 2023.
