Schuylkill County Commissioners are once again prepared to approve a contract for third-party Human Resources services. And the price of that service just keeps going up.
According to the Agenda for tomorrow’s Schuylkill County Commissioners meeting, a contract with Hubric Resources will likely be up for a vote. The contract is retroactive to Feb. 28 and runs through June 30 of this year. It’ll cover both “Human Resources consulting” and “recruiting” efforts, each with their own rate.
As for those rates, they’ve gone up since the County last contracted Hubric Resources for its services.
Now, the HR consulting services costs $225 per hour. That’s $10 more per hour than it was last year, when the Commissioners approved a similar contract with the same exact company.
And that’s up from the $125 per hour we paid Hubric back in 2020.
Schuylkill County Once Again Employing Third-Party HR Service
The reason the Commissioners are considering a contract with Hubric Resources is because the current HR Director for the County is leaving for another job. The Republican-Herald reports Andrea Whelan is taking a job at Fort Indiantown Gap, vacating the position at the Courthouse.
Accepting Whelan’s resignation from County government is also on Wednesday’s Agenda for the Commissioners.
Whelan started in August 2022 after the Commissioners had contracted Hubric at the $215 per hour rate until she was hired. She replaced Heidi Zula, who held the job until taking a similar position with Harrisburg schools. Zula started at the Courthouse at the end of 2020 after another HR Director, Deborah Twigg, resigned in August of that same year.
The County is currently searching for candidates to fill the HR Director’s job.
