Shirley M. (Cooper) Reichert, 89 – Enjoyed Raising and Racing Pigeons

Shirley M. Reichert, 89, of Pine Grove, passed away Wednesday, January 25th, at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on March 6, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Clara (Schnoke) Cooper and Theodore Cooper.

Shirley enjoyed raising and racing pigeons. She was a member of the Pine Grove Pigeon Club and served as the secretary for many years. She was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing as well. Shirley was last employed as the custodian for Fulton Bank in Pine Grove.

She attended St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pine Grove.

She is survived by her son, Donald, husband of Jean McMillin, of Pine Grove, granddaughters, Lisa, wife of James Boyer of Myerstown; Heather, wife of Ian Morgan of Pine Grove, great grandchildren, Cohen Boyer, Landon and Jack Morgan, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her companion of many years, Kenneth Reichert. Shirley is survived by five brothers, Jerry Cooper; Gary Cooper; Dale Cooper; Leroy Cooper; and Alfred Cooper all of Pine Grove.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Richard Cooper.

Services and interment are private at the convenience of family.

At the family’s request, memorial donations may be forwarded to St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 312 South Tulpehocken St. Pine Grove, PA 17963.
