A Luzerne County truck driver died Friday morning in a crash in southern Schuylkill County.
According to State Police in Schuylkill Haven, the crash happened on Route 895 in West Brunswick Twp.
Police say 74-year-old John Vanderhoff Jr., of Glen Lyon in Luzerne County, was traveling north on Route 895 in a commercial truck.
As Vanderhoff neared the highway’s intersection with Millers Crossing Rd., his truck left the road and struck a guide rail. The truck continued north on Route895 and then struck a tree.
Police say Vanderhoff died at the scene of the crash. The investigation into what caused the crash is ongoing.
