Two employees of a blasting business working at a Schuylkill County location were injured Monday morning in an explosion.
According to State Police reporting, the incident happened just before noon on Monday at Summit Quarry, Porter Township, involving employees of Maine Drilling and Blasting.
The company, based in Bethel, offers blasting and explosives services.
Information on what exactly happened during this explosion is limited as a State Police investigation into it continues Tuesday.
What we do know is that police say two Maine Drilling and Blasting workers were disposing boxes that previously held boosters used in the blasting process.
That’s when the explosion happened. The result of that blast injured the two employees but police say their injuries aren’t life-threatening.
Several vehicles and an office trailer near the explosion site sustained damage during the explosion. Police have not released the identities of those injured in the blast.
