The names of the 6 people who died in an Interstate 81 pile-up back on March 28 have been identified.
Pennsylvania State Police released the identities of those individuals who lost their lives when a snow squall blinded travelers and led to the fiery, fatal crash. More than 80 vehicles were involved in the pile-up on the interstate and the road was closed for about 36 hours while emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
In addition to the 6 fatalities, another 25 people were injured and required hospital treatment.
DNA evidence collected by Schuylkill County Coroner’s office was used to determine the identities of some of these victims:
- Terri Stull, 56, Lexington, MA
- Douglas Teeter, 57, Lexington, MA
- Rita Matos, 40, Carlisle
- Edward Ramos, 43, Carlisle
- William Douglas, 69, Pine Grove, WV
- Domingo Diaz, 66, Brooklyn, NY
